Stump Grinding Gold Coast

A stump left in the lawn after a removal is a trip hazard, a termite invitation and the reason a Gold Coast relandscape job keeps getting put off. We grind it out in a single visit so the patch can be returfed, repaved or planted into without anyone having to dig the root flare out by hand.

Two grinders cover the work across the Gold Coast. The narrow access machine fits through a 760mm side gate, which is the realistic width on most Robina, Mermaid Beach and Burleigh townhouse approaches. The full size grinder rides on the trailer for an open hinterland block where the stump is a metre across at the buttress and the grinder needs the horsepower. We pick the machine before we drive out.

Grinding is quoted on stump diameter at ground level, the species, and how deep you want to take it. Standard depth is around 200 to 300mm below grade, which is enough for fresh turf, paving sand or a shallow garden bed. For a new planting or a slab pour we take it deeper. Hardwoods like ironbark and forest red gum take longer through the cutter than a soft species like a palm or a paperbark.

Across Gold Coast we see this work most often near Burleigh Heads National Park and out across the surrounding suburbs — coastal rainforest remnant with pandanus, hoop pine and tuckeroo. Species we handle regularly include Hoop Pine (araucaria cunninghamii) and Moreton Bay Fig (ficus macrophylla), each with its own pruning windows, failure modes, and council protections.
