Land Clearing Gold Coast
Block prep for builders, regrowth knock back on acreage, bushfire fuel reduction and selective clearing to permit lines across the coastal strip and hinterland.
Land clearing on the Gold Coast runs across two very different jobs. A flat suburban block at Helensvale or a commercial site at Robina is straightforward, walk the boundary, drop the trees inside the permit envelope, chip and grade. A sloped acreage block on Tamborine or in the Currumbin Valley with mixed regrowth, retained natives and a koala habitat overlay is a different conversation. Both start with a site walk and the permit map laid out on the bonnet.
We do not clear vegetation outside the lines. City of Gold Coast City Plan 2016 sets the rules and the overlays sit on top of that, koala habitat, vegetation protection, Gondwana hinterland conservation areas. If a builder has marked trees that fall inside an overlay, we flag it before any saw fires up. Established native canopy adds value to the block and is hard to put back, we always look at the retain list first.
Pricing follows area, vegetation density, species and access. A clean coastal block with a wattle screen and a couple of camphor laurels is one number. A hinterland acreage block with mature gums, hoop pine, lillipilly understory and a slope you cannot trailer up is another. We quote on a walk, not a satellite image.
Across Gold Coast we see this work most often near Burleigh Heads National Park and out across the surrounding suburbs — coastal rainforest remnant with pandanus, hoop pine and tuckeroo. Species we handle regularly include Hoop Pine (araucaria cunninghamii) and Moreton Bay Fig (ficus macrophylla), each with its own pruning windows, failure modes, and council protections. Every quote we write factors in the species on site and the access route, not just the visible canopy.

Land Clearing FAQs
Do I need a council permit to clear on the Gold Coast?
Usually yes for established trees, native species and anything inside an overlay. The City Plan 2016 Vegetation Management Code sets the size triggers at around 40cm trunk circumference or 4m height in a protected zone, and overlays sit on top of that. Pull a property planning report from the City of Gold Coast before any saw fires up.
Can you handle bushfire fuel reduction?
Yes. Defendable space work on hinterland blocks, ladder fuel reduction under canopy and a buffered cleared zone around the dwelling all sit inside what the crew does. We work to the bushfire prone area planning rules and leave the retained canopy clean above the cleared layer.
What happens to the cleared vegetation?
Chipped on site by default. Mulch can be left in piles for you to spread, raked across the cleared area as ground cover, or carted off as a separate line. Larger logs from a gum or ironbark can be cut into firewood rounds and stacked along the fence if you want them kept.
